You don't like the Coniston or Radnor with straight leg denim? I'd be fine wearing those with straight leg denim. A couple other options with denim would be the Islay or Shannon if those are your style

I will test test the islay yes :)

For the coniston and radnor the toe is not wide. The boot look very thin and I was very surprised.

What type of shoe are you looking for?

For me personally (& just based on my foot shape) I found the 348 most similar to the capital - have had an Oxford and monk shoe on both lasts, taking the same size for C&J and loake

Hello my friends,

I am a huge fan of crockett and jones. I have coniston, radnor (russian leather), harlech (dark brown), skye 3, chiltern...

I am very happy with these boots. Recently, I bought orslow pant (the 105 models). The cut is straight. It's not like my other pant.

Unfortunately with my boots the look is very weird : the large leg opening give a bad contrast with the boots. The boots look too thin and the workwear look is not given.

The only boot that it works is the fred grenson. The very wide toe give a successful result.

Now i am looking the crockett and jones signature with my workwear vintage look. With my orslow 105 and their large leg opening.

Do you think that crockett and jones can stand for this ? I was thinking for the grizedale : large toe, commando sole that give more space and the roughout suede that dont give them a very precious look.

Have you tested workwearlook with this ? With large legopening ? I am preparing myself to visit the shop to test.

Sorry i am french so my english is not perfect.

Thanks for your answers !
if one pair or jeans can make £2.5k+ worth of C&J boots look bad, I think the problem is the jeans. Unless you’re starring in a remake of Shawshank Redemption, maybe C&J aren’t the best match for the workwear look

Sorry I don't agree with you :)

I can wear my boots when i am in my casual-chic vibe.

But when I want to switch, unfortunately my boots fail. By the way its not the look that you say. It's more military-vintage-mariner-workwear style and it call for more loose fit. Means by straight cut pant.
But i am looking for something a little bit elegant. That why the shawsank redemption is absolutely not my type.

Can you post pics? I see what you're saying but I think it works just fine with adequate patina on the boots.

Hi Shadow95580
That is an interesting question, I’ll answer in English because your English is better than my French!
I think there are more factors here than just your pants and your boots.
Even the most casual C&J boots are more traditional and formal than work boots or hiking boots.
Also your body might not look good with this combination if you’re tall or slim.
The look you are trying to achieve might take some work.
There are some things I’d love to wear but just can’t because of my rugby physique.
Perhaps the C&J Ross boots with padded ankle collar would fill out the hem of your trousers.
Perhaps you could also discuss this with someone that can alter clothes and possibly take a few centimetres from the width of the lower leg to achieve the style you desire. Having a good tailor is like being friends with a magician ?
Meilleurs voeux d'Angleterre et bonne chance!

Anyone know if the strap and buckle on the Aldershot can be removed if one wants? I'm quite liking the black grain / roughout version, but don't particularly fancy the strap being on there all the time.

Question about the Handgrade line-

1. Are their uppers thicker

2. Anyone here familiar with the Seymour double monk or Cowdray Chelsea boot?

I have multiple Handgrade and bench grade C&J, but the Seymour and Cowdray seem to have extra thick uppers that take a longer break in than the rest. Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm trying to figure out if i just need to push on through this break in, or sell them.
