Anyone know if there's a way, from the USA, to purchase and pay for in pounds from the UK website? I'd like to have the boots delivered to a UK based forwarder then combined with some Barbour products from another vendor. The forwarder then combines both deliveries and sends them to me DHL.
Only way is to get the forwarder to pay and you pay them? It’d then be including uk vat so would probably be cheaper to get via web still and have sent separately as you’d save vat then?

I know the Dover is the definitive STD but how am I supposed to justify nearly paying three times a much when I know this shoe is out there?
[/QUOTE]

That’s an honest and good question. But, at least for me, there’s just no comparing. I own both the Hardwick and almost every iteration of the Dover you can think of. Nothing compares to the Dover. Having said that, the Hardwick is one fine shoe, and the city sole is awesome.

He’d also be in danger of going over the $800 duty free limit.

FYI if anyone is interested I got the thumbs up and added the dark brown cordovan Chelsea to the MTO sheet.

This boot is going to be incredible. Basically a shell version of the EG Newmarket.

I think you could use a VPN for this? Set your VPN IP address to a UK location and then place your orders and have them shipped to your forwarding company. I use Private Internet Access to similar effect (for some US purchases as I’m based in Australia).

You probably need a proxy that hides your IP address.

Folks I’m thinking of bringing back glorious Radnor, here’s my plans;

• Upper: Black Sctoch/Zug/CC
• Construction: 270/360 Flat Welt
• Hardwares: 5x4/4x5 Brass/Antique
• Sole: Vibram Cleated/Ridgeway
• Last’s: 228/365

Priced at circa £565 VAT inclusive (£470 exc)

Only when we reach 12 will the fees obliterated
Let me know if you are interested.

Will this be a gmto?

You can directly buy from any of the UK stores. They have a form on the website. They can also ship directly to US for 20 pounds shipping and not pay any VAT.

HI all I'm buying my first pair of black oxfords and I'm thinking of either Hallam or spending a little more money and getting either Belgrave or Audley. I'm a skinny 6'5 guy with not particularly big (or wide) feet for my height (uk 9, us 10).
My questions are: I've read some say Audley are very long, but maybe thats not as big an issue if you're tall like me? (Belgrave coming across as slightly smaller?) and then differences between 348 and 337 and if Belgrave or Audley is worth the step up in price. I will be able to try out the shoes in person.
Thanks for any advice.

I have the Belgrave (in chestnut). It is an excellent shoe.

I would say consideration #1 is which last fits you best. If they all happen to fit fine, consider how often you wear a black cap toe. If rarely, eg the occasional wedding or funeral and you simply would like a black Oxford in the closet, the Hallam is a very good choice. But if you regularly wear suits, and the hand grade lasts fit great, consider jumping up.

The purchase pain only lasts for a little while but you won’t regret your choice.:)
