Greetings! I wonder if anyone has any experience with the 336 last? I am really interested in that James Bond Molton on this last. My current C&J is a Coniston in an 7.5 UK E, which is just a bit narrow for my taste. Does the 336 offer a more generous fit? Thanks!

Is there that much of a difference between say a C&J versus an Edward Green in your estimation? Enough to make one say three times the price of the other?

I'm just curious because personally I have found plenty to like in both catalogues but I wonder what quantifiable differences the pricing variation justifies in this case.

I guess more narrowly, 'liking' a design is purely a subjective assessment but how do we as consumers objectively differentiate?
I don’t think objectivity comes into it that much when talking about shoes over £400.

I like my C&J pairs, they are all comfortable, with good quality leather - I’ve been satisfied with every pair, which isn’t true of the next level down - but EG has a better standard of finishing, both on the uppers and soles. Objectively worth 2 and a bit times the price? Probably not, but I find C&J a bit staid and not as elegant or well executed in design in comparison with EG. I still like them, but an equivalent EG design has more to it, and that’s my preference.

Crafty’s point is a good one, EG only make 2-350 or so pairs a week, I’d imagine C&J make way more.

Mail order will continue to be available. I received the following email from Pernilla Searle last week.

"Dear Mr XYZ,

I hope this e-mail finds you well.

As you may be aware Crockett & Jones are preparing to launch our new e-commerce website shortly.

I wanted to reach out to yourself as you have been a loyal customer here at Mail Order and let you know that our department will remain active and we will still be able to help with any future questions you may have and help process any orders should you wish.

Orders and/or questions can be e-mailed to this e-mail address or my personal business address, pernillasearle at crockettandjones.co.uk"

Only the high rollers get those type of emails. Very impressive?

I think the GMTO Dark Brown Cordovan Galways have shipped! Anyone else get a notice?
Basil and I prepped as many as we could for shipping yesterday, the few we did not get done yesterday will go on Thursday when we are next in. Due to our landlord/lockdown we only have access to the shop twice a week at the moment.
