Any opinions on CJ boot soles?

I'm thinking about having my Conistons resoled at the factory. They currently have the dainite on them and I'd like to get something else. I can't stand the way I can feel the pressure of the dainite nubs before they wear down.

I'm thinking maybe ridgeway?

These vibram cleated soles look pretty cool too: https://www.crockettandjones.com/collections/mens/main-collection/coniston-the-black-editions/

There's also a boot on itshide commando soles here: https://www.crockettandjones.com/collections/mens/boots/snowdon-oak-wax-hide/

Then there's the city sole, which looks great, but a bit thin for a boot. I haven't seen it paired with a leather midsole, which would be ideal.

I haven't yet worn my one pair of Ridgeway soled boots, but have read on here Ridgeway wears down faster than dainite. May be someone here can confirm?

Otherwise Coniston on Ridgeway would be perfect. I find Itshide to be very comfortable, but not very versatile. I suppose you could say the same about Ridgeway.

Not sure what country you live, but there are many excellent professional cobblers this forum, and many other forums, have used for years. They'll do it cheaper and many say better, than the factory; and you often get a much wider selection of soles to choose from as well. That's the route I'd personally go

Crafty Cumbrian is a big fan of Ridgeway and I'm starting to see why. They're a nice low-profile sole (comparatively speaking) while still providing excellent grip. Can't comment on wear rate yet, as I've only the one pair for now and haven't worn them too much yet.

I like the Itshide Commando too, tough and comfortable, but agree with them being more on the 'combat boot' look, which is really where they got their genesis anyway; thus, harder to wear the clunkier sole in some clothing. I have a pair of Alfred Sargent boots I love with them and will keep them, but when it comes time, will get rid of the Commando sole for double leather to better match the boot and make it better with a wider array of clothes.

Yeah that's definitely a good option. In this case I want to get the boots relasted and size down a bit so I think the factory is my best bet.

My priorities when it comes to soles are definitely comfort and grip. I'd rather have to get a pair of boots resoled sooner and enjoy them more in the time they last.

Comfort and grip for me would mean Vibram Gumlite. Doesn't look as good without the stacked leather heel of the other sole options though. Very lightweight and comfortable to walk on. @George Red C&J pictured below.

Followed the link to Paul Stewart and immidately fell in love with the Hancock III PTB in blue nubuck. Is C&J making these?

Some CnJs for 223 + tax left. Pretty insane price, even if it's benchgrade

that’s pretty similar to the Barneys prices when they’d go on sale. Indeed, that’s a great price.

Hi guys, anyone has experience with CJ Handgrade 367? How would it fit compared to Carmina rain?
