Hey Crockett and Jones lovers. I recently purchased on SF a pair of Color 8 cordovan boots for Peal n co. Fit is not for me. Back on sale.

Cheers

good afternoon,

I can't find out. does anyone know what is the last in which the crockett and jones tasssel loafer are made for new and lingwood? It seems that those who had a rope were made in 72, but now, does anyone know?

Looking for some C&J sizing advice. I plan to purchase a pair of the C&J Chelsea V Dark Brown Rough Out (335 last), in 5 pairs of RM Willians Comfort Craftsman/TurnOuts 10.5 G fit me perfectly. I own a pair of C&J Grasmere in 10.5 in 325 last which fit well, maybe a tad loose. I am 11.5 US on Brannock. Any recommendations on Chelsea V sizing? All input appreciated, thank you in advance.
I don't have any experience with C&J Chelseas, but I find the 335 last a little snugger than the 325 last. Your 325 size will likely work with the Chelseas if they are a little loose.

I had been under the impression the 335 was more spacious than 325. I’m considering the Cardigan in this last.

I have read the same, but from my personal experience between my Skyes and Conistons I did not experience the same.

I’ll second that my foot has the same experience. Of course, potentially, that doesn’t mean much for anyone else’s foot. For my foot, the 335 last of my Skye II, and Islay 365 last fit very similarly.

My Cardigan 4 fits a little looser in the forefoot than my 325 boots and shoes. Personally I like the 325 the best followed by 365 and then 335.

I just picked up these Peal & Co cordovan bluchers for ~$480. Brooks Brothers have been out of stock in my size online for a while, but I went hunting when I realized a coupon I had for an extra 15% off of sale items didn’t exclude shoes. Ricky in the BB flagship store’s shoe department found a pair last week somewhere in California, and had it shipped to New York for me to try and buy. I think this may be the last size 13 they’ll ever sell in this model (unless one that was never in inventory pops up in a stockroom somewhere).

I believe these to be C&Js white-labeled for BB, and of so this is the first pair of English bench made shoes in my wardrobe. To me, they’re stunners, and likely my first ever C&Js. Absolutely love em’.

FYI, I was bored and took to shining two shoes - my Connaught II on the 379 last and the EG Dover on the 82. Figured I’d post just to give folks an idea of C&J’s 379 last and construction/finishing differences with EG. I notice two main differences that I think contribute to the EG’s being a closer, more tailored fit: 1) the heel is built to cup your heel much better; and 2) the shoe walls, especially in the mouth of the shoe, are much higher, almost by half an inch. It’s no wonder the 82 last makes the Dovers feel like socks.

Unfortunately, the C & J offering similar to the EG Dover is one of their Handgrade collection, so the price differential is not large, but here's the closest model I can see on C & J's website:

@Zaos1 They also offer the Hardwick in grain and suede from the main collection.

I have the suede variant and love them.

If you are looking for a good value split toe derby I also recommend sons of Henrey. It's in Utah, which is the same leather Edward Green use. I have this as well (light colour version) and love them, utah is incredibly supple and comfortable.

Pictures of both
