1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Alright then, I'm confused!

I have Skelnik and C&J website saying I should go with 7.5 (C&J website says to size down half with 365 -which I did- but go TTS with 335).

And hoodog and Cleav saying to go with 7... did you guys size down on the Islay?

Nope, I have the same size in all C&J lasts.
Edit: but I might not be the best reference since I have very flat feet (low volume) and use inserts extra insoles in all my shoes and boots.

I've never tried on the Skye, but FWIW, I'm the same size so far in all C&J lasts too. UK7E for my Islay, Coniston (325) and cordovan Cardigan 4 (335).

Very nice. Love my Marlows, although I find my #8 shell variants tend to color coordinate a little more frequently. What's your cleaning and polishing regiment?

Thanks. After each wearing, I'll brush the shoes to remove any dust, then mist them with water, wipe down with a cotton cloth and brush again for a minute or two.

Today I did everything mentioned above followed by a very light application of Saphir cordovan cream (neutral). I let the shoes dry for a few minutes and then brushed them again. I also applied a very light amount of Saphir Pate de Luxe (neutral) wax on the toes and around the heel and gave the shoes a final brushing to bring out a shine.

I've never applied wax to my cordovan shoes, but I always seem to scuff the toe area and heels so I figured a light amount of wax would offer some protection. This is something that I'll probably only do once in a blue moon.

So far for my shell Marlows and Lindricks I just have/use Saphir Renovateur. Is it worth getting some Saphir cordovan cream in neutral? I've read conflicting reports in whether to use cordovan cream but it seems like that might help me get more of a shine. Mostly I just brush and use some Renovateur.

brown shell MArlow Ptb

WE JUST NEED TWO (2) MORE. IT'S A GREAT DEAL. JUMP IN. This is a C&J MTO for a makeup virtually identical to the RL Marlow PTB. The specs are: Specs:
• Grasmere (325 last)
• Dark brown (C&J color "dark cognac") shell cordovan
• Double leather soles
• Exposed eyelets
• Storm welt
• Antique welt/edge
Price: £620 (less VAT is £516.67). Shipping to US is £30.00. I believe that the price indicated includes the increase to be applied on March 1. So, perhaps if we get 12 and all pay before then the price will be lower. Click on BROWN SHELL MARLOW PTB above to go to the signup spreadsheet. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Reno is a good product, but a bit harsh for cordovan from what I've gathered. If you use it very infrequently, you should probably be ok, but the cordovan cream was created specifically for cordovan. I don't know what argument there would be against cordovan cream other than not using any sort of product on your cordovan, but that would apply to all products, not just the cordovan cream.

Again, if you're only applying product every few months, I cannot see the Reno doing any damage, but if you have the opportunity to buy something that was made specifically for cordovan, it's a no brainer for me.

I'm a bit of a noobie here but bought my first C&J brown lowndes double monk in 348 last and I'm already addicted for more C&J. I've been eyeing on a coniston boot but don't know what should be my size. My current shoes are limited but

7.5D US in AE Park avenue
7.5D US in 108 Last for AE
6.5E UK in C&J 348
8US in Sneakers

Should I get 325 in 6.5E UK?
