1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Thanks! I'll check them out.

I really prefer the Onslow to its successor the Durham. Having the split toe (Durham) just doesn't look as clean to me.

Thank you very much. With the prices there, it would still run me at least $100 USD more than what I'd like to spend on them at the moment, but at least now I know they're out there.

Did you untick the checkbox for VAT?
That takes the grain ones down to 4080KR or about US$436.

No I didn't, I was on my phone when I looked at the site and didn't see that. Let me check again!
Edit: yup you're right. This is very bad for my wallet. They have a few other shoes I haven't been able to find, including the Cardiff in mahogany calf!

I don't think so. Just another outlet to purchase CJ at prices significantly lower than US pricing, and several models that are no longer (or were never?) available through CJ directly in London.

I bought a pair of Conistons in black "oiled suede" from Barneys of NY. I cannot find a single reference anywhere on the interweb on how to clean and care for this leather. It's basically a roughed or brushed leather then oiled. Any ideas?

No cleaning required for those other than brushing with a brush.

I'm not seeing that low of pricing on boots or anything else; still seems to be in line with normal C&J pricing?

If you purchase CJ via any of the US retailers (C&J NYC, skyvalet, ben silver) you pay a considerable markup. Usually $100-300.

Purchasing from Grafford allows you to order quickly online for the same prices as what a US citizen would pay if purchasing in GBP through their main factory/Pernilla in London. I had only been looking at British sellers since the pound is weak currently. Maybe the Swedish krona is equally as weak?

To boot, there are quite a few styles as I mentioned that are no longer available on C&J's site, so ordering them through there is almost certainly not possible.

In summary: same prices as London for US buyers, several hundred dollars cheaper than buying in US, and additional/older models no longer carried by mainline C&J.

Agreed. The exception is when it gets stained but it really should not given the oiled nature of the leather.

Does anyone know if the Factory shop is open as normal this Friday or closed early for Christmas?

    Nice, thanks.

Anyone in the US ever order online from Macsamillion in Oxford? It appears they use DHL for their carrier. I feel like I've heard horror stories about delivery/duties in the past with them but I very well may be wrong. This also may be retailer specific as I know C&J "undervalues" the packages they send so I have never had to pay any extra fees.

I would be spending well under the $800 or whatever the threshold is for some charges.

Grafford is a tad pricier for the shoes I want, but it appears they use UPS, which I know C&J does directly as well. Again, the carrier may not be the issue but rather the retailer, but I figured I would ask!
