1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Go to a good cobbler and purchase a pair of quality inner soles. You may choose to wear just one or purchase 2 sets, one thicker than the other. Good luck!

Those prices are in euros, not gbp so about $397.
That's less than I paid for mine on sale at Barneys a couple years ago.

Shipping is free with the Borghini though. So comes out the same?

Thinking about getting the Monkton, got a question on chestnut color. Is it light like Allen Edmonds walnut, or darker close to their chili color?

Can't tell too much by pics

Just grabbed a pair of Islay's from Robert Old. What an exquisite boot. Having owned a pair of Purdey's I think the Purdey's must be on a different last, maybe 325? They had a much rounder toe than these 365 Islay's

It's closer to the walnut with hints of red and yellow.

Me too! My first non-shell purchase in 8 pairs. I am very happy with the Islays and and with the great service from Robert Old.

Does anyone have a pair of Harrogates? I'm thinking about a pair, but haven't seen any IRL photos yet. Looks like a cool shoe for more casual days in the office this fall/winter.

Is there an advantage from ordering from Robert Old?

Also, Harrods is having a 10% off sale this weekend if you have a rewards card. I think it applies to C&J. They also deduct VAT which makes it a decent deal.

Not really, any UK stockist will have a cheaper price than US stockist. Robert Old didn't charge me for shipping though which was strange since they claim "free shipping on all orders except CJ shoes." Total came out to be $478 which includes the transaction fee on my card.

Pair of Islays I just thrifted. I may not keep them as I don't NEED them, but the temptation was too strong.
