^^ Highbury is gone.
From what I have seen they are not made to handgrade standards. I think all handgrade shoes have closed channeled soles. None of the ones I have seen or own, have this.
I went half size down with my Drummonds and think that the fit could be better. If I went a full size down I think it might be too tight for me width wise. I never tried on down a full size and out one width though.
In principle, the 348 last is available in E, F, and G (extrawide). I've tried the Hallam in a G width a few years ago in C&J's shop in 69 Jermyn Street. However, this was a special MTO for the shop if I remember correctly.
For the G width, you either have to call the shop and be lucky. I was told, they could deliver to Germany. Don't know about the US. Or you have to organize a group buy, because C&J doesn't do single MTOs I believe.
The F width is more common, but it only appears in the collection every now and then. For instance, the Monkton is available in F right now. The Tetbury once used to be, too, but that doesn't seem to be the case right now. Better call or e-mail C&J to be sure.
They will do individual MTO's, but you have to pay many pesos.
TEL: 01604 631515 That's the number for the factory shop unless it's changed in the lat year or so.
Nice one. Thanks.
No longer 01604 631515?
Quote:I spoke to the factory shop last Friday on the number i provided and it surely is a working line.
Good to know, thanks.
I went a full size down and the fit is good.
Excuse my ignorance but where do you buy C&J's? The C&J website says there are no stockists in LA, and people here don't seem to mention websites (unlike the Carmina thread where websites are plentiful).
Barneys carries Crockett & Jones.
You can also call C&J stores and order over the phone. The NY store is helpful. Obviously you should know your sizing if you go that route.
