Heads-up for anyone heading to the Birmingham shop - the local TK Maxx in the Bullring has a selection of Corgi, Pantherella and Church's socks available at decent prices (Corgi £3.99 a pair, Pantherella £7.99 for two pairs and Church's £9.99 a pair).

I did leave some for other shoppers, honestly!

Xpost from Manhattan Sales Alert Thread: Popped by C&J NY on way back from an errand and they are selling subs in the $400 - $700 range. Nothing of interest for me at that price point. Some were benchgrade and some were handgrade. You can probably call the store to find out if they have anything in a style you are looking for in your size.

EDIT: Forgot to note that these sal shoes were marked "subs." Not sure if this was the case for all shoes, but it was for the ones that I picked up.

Not sure why they said that. It is listed as today on the C&J site.

Some shoes were out too, but the shelves were definitely not fully stocked, maybe they were just prepping for tomorrow? The sales associate had no issues with me handling those particular shoes.

I don't know where you heard 8.5 UK is 9 US, but for pretty much all English makers barring EG and GG, an 8.5E UK is a 9.5D US.

Peal sizing is your normal US.

I have owned various C&J peal models. Without exception they have been US9.5d. My C&J size is UK8.5e, without exception. I own models on various lasts, shoes and boots, shell and calf.
