The EG for Holland & Holland shoes are in the EG thread already.

The 228 last on which the shoes above were made is C&J's old country last on which they still make the Snowdon.

that's really strange, if I need to choose I would say opposite.

Just look on the heels of Galways and these shoes

These got caught in a Vancouver rainstorm and it washed out the color uniformity a little

Well, I just saw 2 pairs and bought both, thinking at least one would work for me. There is another seller on eBay, listing the same EG pair in 10.5 for over $600, still fair enough price given the quality.
As it happens the CJ pair fit me perfectly and much better than the EG which are 11F, so I might list them, just thought I'd put them up on here and the EG thread as they seem topical as kind of shoe versions of the Galway and Snowden.

Probably a bit off topic, but do any of you sometimes have trouble wearing the nice crockett & jones shoes/boots you buy? Do you ever feel guilty about wearing a $600+ pair of shoes/boots during a work day, knowing you might scuff them or put a decent amount of wear on them?

Not at all. They are meant to be worn. The expense incurred totally justifies your wearing the hell out of them. That's what shoes are made for. Especially nice ones. :)

You drive your Benz and wear your Rolex every day... why not wear your nice C&J's as well?

Good quality shoes and boots always look better with age and wear. Scuffs are part and parcel of that ageing process.

Not sure why but Holland and Holland moved their production to C&J a few years ago, at the shop in London I have seen their shoes made by both. I have two pairs of Holland and Holland boots one made by C&J and the other by EG.

I sold my C&J veldt boots made for Holland & Holland recently as part of a slimming down of my shoe cupboard but they were magnificent beasts. Sadly a full size too big whereas my EG H&H veldt boots fit me well so the decision was made...

Incidentally, Farhad, do H&H still sell footwear these days? I'm sure they had nothing in their recent catalogue, and I've not been down to London for over a year now...

They do still sell the shoes and boots as far as I know In their shop in London and I plan to pay them a visit on the 27th of this month.
I agree the sizeing of the C&J boots and the EG ones are a bit different!
    Will speak later.

One edit to the sourcing of the C&J Skye boot.

Was just on the Ben Silver website and they also sell the calf leather Skye, theirs comes on a dainite sole unit, I think the regular C&J model comes on a leather sole so nice to have some choice.

    Fine looking boot.
