Are the Barney's US sizes and C&J UK sizes a full size different? If so, call Barney's in Chicago; I was there yesterday and bought the Highbury in dark brown and I know that as of 4pm Central they had a pair left in a 10US. I know, however, that they don't have a 9.5 US because I'd asked to try those in addition to the 9 (which ended up fitting).

In my experience, Barneys US sizing is +1 from C&J UK sizing, but the "D" width is narrower than the standard UK "E" width in the equivalent C&J-branded models (so, e.g. the Finsbury in US 11D is as long as the Finsbury in UK 10E, but narrower)

I actually thought the standard width was about the same, so UK 9E = Barneys US 10D. I have 2 Barneys C&Js, the Cliffords and the Wicklows and that is what my experience was.

This is what I was led to believe as well. I called the Crockett & Jones store in New York a while ago to ask and they confirmed with me, but perhaps the C&J rep here can also let us know

Be that as it may, if the poster I quoted wants to try and find those shoes in his size, a call to Chicago might be worthwhile; worst case scenario he's out $12 for shipping.

Maybe it's a last-by-last thing or handgrade vs. benchgrade. I have experience with the Finsbury (341 last, could not wear Barneys 11D but have same model in UK 10E) and the Chelsea 5 (335 last, UK 10E is too loose but Barneys 11D fits perfectly).

Oh Tifosi. It is going to get so much worse for you, friend. Do not - DO NOT! - start checking the skoaktiebolaget and Epaulet x Carmina threads...

I just read thru that as my buddy Alex sent me the link. I guess I'll have to live through him on that order. We are the same size so when he is ready to sell them.....haha.

I really want the Harlech boot in dark brown. On the hunt for them now.

Quote:Which ones are those? C&J have so many boots I want... but I wish there was a way to look at them all side by side online.

FedEx just delivered the Conistons that were on sale at Barneys recently. I wasn't sure (and still not 100%) if I was going to keep them because although they are calf, I thought they'd be just too similar to the dark brown shell Harlechs. Well, the dark brown calf is gorgeous, they have no imperfections, and although they fit a bit bigger than the 341 last boots, are very comfortable out of the box. Guess I'll try them on again tomorrow to help me decide. The $400 price is just hard to argue with for a C&J boot.
