Cross post from the black cap toe thread, Crockett & Jones post here
I noticed that in some case the shoes in US E Width for european market are tagged with one full size difference (the US D are always marked on the box with half size difference.)

Thanks. Forgive me for perhaps being an idiot : but would this mean - since CJ have E (medium) and G (wide) widths
RL 9E = UK_CJ 8G
RL 9D = UK_CJ 8.5E
Perhaps I am being an idiot. But otherwise a RL 9E would be significantly smaller than a RL 9D (if they were CJ_UK 8E and 8.5E respectively).
Hi, I'm wondering if someone who has a C&J Edgware in a UK Size 7 could please post some measurements of the out-sole length and width in cm. Thanks ....... I would appreciate it.
Was in C&J NYC at lunch today and took a photo of the cordovan swatch book. The colors are (from left to right) whiskey, burgundy, dark brown and black (the face swatch is not a cordovan color). I was surprised at the color of the whiskey which appeared almost ravello... Does anyone here own anything in C&J whiskey and if so, are you able to comment on the shade of brown?
NAMOR has a whiskey shell Harvard that I may get too
Ben Silver (second to bottom)
Thanks. Looks like a great color. Slightly lighter than my Marlow wingtips it seems.
WOW if anyone wants to get this boot in whiskey, I might be keen agian!
Is it me or does the Ben Silver model look far lighter (more like Alden whiskey) than the swatch hoit1981 posted? The Harvard loafer looks to be somewhere between the two.
I think -- although I am still not sure that I will be able to participate, so I realize this carries limited weight -- that there are two ideas for MTOs here being blended into one. A whiskey boot sounds like a good idea for a second model, and maybe a better option for a boot with a double leather soul. I like the ridgeway sole idea a lot with the dark brown shell. With the whiskey, it seems a bit inelegant, a bit of a muddled concept. Double leather sounds right on that boot. All just my opinion, of course.
Edit: The whiskey might be nice on this - http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=22796246 (Would suggest all eyelets, not speed hooks.)
Part of me wishes / hopes that there might be a second model a little be later down the line. I personally don't have much need for a ridgeway as i am not-so-patiently awaiting a #8 indy w/commando to use through the winter weather (and beyond). I like the standard model, and am not too fussed by speed hooks. However if there was a group order for the Whisky with double leather all eyelet, i would be interested - but only if the process was a few months in the future as I am not going to be able to get fitted for the Last until mid-December. Early next year would be a possibility. Would like to see the boot IRL before a decision was made - I am definitely on the lookout for a shell captoe, maybe an Alden Plaza or Grant, maybe this Harlech.
Now that I've seen whiskey I'm interested in a whiskey Harlech on double leather. Could do eyelets too. I've emailed Lauren to see if whiskey is even an option - I will let you guys know when she replies.
NOW YOU'RE Talking HOIT! Double Leather Soul Whiskey leather. oh how beautifully that would age.
Would anyone be interested in a double soled Boston or Harvard or Lincoln loafer in whiskey cordovan? It would have to be a MTO, but I think it would come in at a lot less than the $895 one currently being sold on Ben Silver.
If you're interested send me a PM. I am committed to making this happen. Please don't PM me if you're not 100% sure.
Sick Boot! You had those made way back in 2014 Gramps .. Sweet ..
Chipshot is in for the whiskey loafer. Who else?
