There's empirical research out there to suggest that those married with wives are highly unlikely to have large shoe collections. And you seem to further prove that this hypothesis is true.
please define large so that I can check whether I'm really affected by this hypothesis

thanks for the suggestion. I managed to lure my wife into the C&J world some time ago. unfortunately, they don't have as many different models for women as for men. recently, I also tried Cheaney on her with success. when we were in Paris in October, I failed with a bribe attempt for her at Upper Shoes (they offer a nice exclusive women's suede Chukka boot by C&J) because they only had men's models in the shop.
Try Carmina in Paris!! It almost worked with my girlfriend, if they actually would have had her size UK 7.5 in stock for the nice riding boots / high-shaft boots. She really liked Carmina, much more than Crockett & Jones. At Upper Shoes they really did not have any women's model in her size.

Best regards

My wife wears women’s C&J but the last two to three seasons haven’t interested her much - too much Cavalry Calf and black. It’s pushed her in Cheaney’s direction but she prefers the feel of her C&Js on the foot, so to speak.

same with us, because of too much black she had a MTO boot in Chocolate Hurricane Hide. Cheaney was the way to go because C&J stopped offering women's Chukkas

It’s since Philippa Jones took over responsibility for the women’s range. Her instincts don’t chime with my wife’s tastes, but I wish her well and hope the range is selling well.

Don Crafty, sounds like you got competition down in Frankfurt ... Want me to send out the boys from Sicily to take care of business in Frankfurt ? @Crafty Cumbrian

I've heard that Crafty is able to store all his footwear in one room.

If you ever plan to sell the boxes increase your price power kinda like Rolex. Also, simply because they are nice.
Also if you have models for certain seasons, you can store them in the boxes during the times of the year you do not wear them, e.g. suede loafers in winter or fur-lined winter boots in the summer, etc.

Best regards
