I wish I'd been properly sized back in '20 when it hit 99 cents. However, I did pull the trigger on a few lengths of cloth for future me to fund.

Shelton, mounted on Dainite in 325 last. This model in rough out suede would be great.

As promised, a follow-up on the Harvard 2 (for those that don't already own it!).

The 10UK fits excellent. Snug as a loafer needs to be, but very comfortable especially across the dreaded vamp. Dreaded, anyway, for those of us with a high instep.

My only gripe is that C&J doesn't have their loafer size recommendations posted right along with the Last description. Instead, it's buried away elsewhere. I originally ordered the 9.5UK.

For the record, this is the 376, while the Connaught 2 on the 379 is a 9.5UK for me. I'm a 10.5D US by measurement, bordering on an E width (although I've never purchased an E width).

For those wondering how ”red” rust Radnors are; here is a comparison with my dark brown Bostons.
Personally, I think the colour is great and versatile.

This is really helpful. When I saw that colour I was really taken by it. I’ve been pondering an Islay GMTO using the Rust SG, something like the Tan SG Islay we did. I agree with your statement that I think it will be a versatile addition…

I cant make sense of this. On the webpage for this rust Radnor boot, it states in the description,

N.B. Radnor does NOT have a storm welt as per the image. This style is made with a regular welt which relates back to traditional marching boots made for the British Army.

But the images DO show a stormwelt. So why on earth have they not advertised images of the correct boot (i.e. the Radnor with NO stormwelt) ?

I’m guessing it was to do with samples made for approval/photo shoot… it’s just a sale special run so they’ve not done the photography on the final production run.

Just a guess…

How much water resistance does storm welt add over the flat welt?

Lumow, does this boot have half gusseted tongue?

That would be my ideal makeup for this boot. Flat welt, half bellow tongue, ridgeway sole. That colour does look great 👍

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
