Imagine how a pair of green scotch grain Pembroke's would look...

If this shade of green is faithful to reality, it's stunning.
Here is another picture of them in the house in normal room light...(socks by Southern Scholar)...they were MTO with city sole (thank you Thomas @ 92 Jermyn St)....as much as I love these, I find it hard to wear them as I don't have tons of things to wear them with. I think green shoes are hard to pair up...I'm a college teacher and need to dress and look nice, but I live in California so it's pretty casual, so I wear jeans most days...currently, I wear them with light wash jeans and a dark green colored shirt that matches the shoes. I'm a bit obsessed with my watch matching the shoes (I'm a watch collector)...currently, I wear these with a stainless steel Shinola with a green dial that matches up nicely - I bought the watch just for these shoes. There is a dream watch that I'd love to have to match up with these, but I would only wear it with these shoes. I have 7 watches in the rotation, I'm done buying as I have to pay for my daughter to go to college starting next year, but a picture of my dream watch to go with these is posted below. I have two Omega Seamasters now, both Planet Oceans 600mm, one stainless steel w/black dial, and another blue alligator strap w/blue dial - but the green version you see in the picture below is just ridiculous on how well it would go with these shoes....one can dream right?

Nice man. But these indoor photos can be a bit misguiding. Outdoor photos (on a dry clear day) would tell a better story about the green-ness of the colour for those who are curious. I'm not bothered personally as i love the green scotch grain that C&J uses and it would look smashing on a Pembroke

As much I would wish and love that the colour would be real, I think that it's more like this (Ludwig Reiter).

I'll post a picture outside tomorrow...I think the indoor picture is pretty close, but I'll take a pic and post it against the indoor so it's there for comparison. My GSG Boston's are my most interesting pair.

The thing with darker green is that it may look almost black most of the time and only show it's beauty when the light hits them, which is difficult to achieve indoors.

I used to have a number of watches, but my interests have shifted elsewhere. I only have one watch remaining which gives an indication of what my favorite color may be. Here you also see the effect that it may appear almost black:

Handsome watch. I'm considering it as well in another shade of green.

Here is a picture taken this morning. I live by the beach, it's clear, a bit overcast - I think the green is sensational in these pictures...

And for the record, I spend quite a bit of time in the Alden thread - but without questions C&J is my favorite brand - they are just amazing in terms of everything - fit, quality control, quality, box, dust bag, price (when compared to EG and JL), and their rubber soles are best in the biz (IMHO)

I can't imagine life with just one watch - but if it had to be just one, it would have a stainless steel bracelet...they go with anything...my green faced watch does look black much of the time...so I agree for sure...

DBSG Islays that have been switched over to Londra. Infinitely more comfortable and grip while being considerably lighter. And the profile is still sleek and dressy .

I’m also on Team Londra Resole and can’t recommend it enough for smart casual / office boots!

I find it a softer sole than Ridgeway, plenty grippy, still low profile, and best of all - you get your heel stack back!

Here it is on my CJ x RL Lindrick’s (resole by Wyatt & Dad cobblers, swapped from leather)…

For team Londra, are you using a local cobbler or sending somewhere? My Islay are over 10 years old so will probably resole at some point.

welcome to the club! Enzo Bonafe had ordered Londra soles at my request a year or so ago, they might still be stocking the sole if anyone was planning on ordering any boots from them soon.

Most cobblers should be able to order them directly from vibram.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
