Should any self respecting man have a pair of Conistons in tan grain? I’m one click away from buying them but I have so many boots…
Just click that button!

If you give long and detailed answers to your wife’s question about “how are those different?”, she’ll stop asking. At least that’s what happened with me.

So after I was chastised for my overly large Pembrokes, I did the only decent thing and flogged them. The new ones I ordered were half a size down and I’m pleased to report the fit is much improved. This was definitely a sizing issue rather than an issue with 317 last though.

Yes, 325 sorry, that wasn’t clear. I was just trying to make the point that the size of the 317 Pembroke was the main issue, given the 325 fit well in half a size smaller, I imagine I would have been happy with the G fit in a 9. I prefer the appearance of the 325 to be honest as the wide width of the 317 gives the toe the appearance of being more pointy.

Looking great Fenners.

Makes me want to buy some and I already have them 😁

PS yes no doubt hit the order button on the Coniston TSG - they are indeed a must have and you will be mocked by all and sundry until you buy them (hope this helps with the decision).

Let’s be honest. We’ll mock Fenners even after he buys them. It’s what we do. But he should still buy them.

NO!☝️

Tan Scotch Grain is a pretty brassy leather. It tries to be elegant and casual at the same time but fails on both ends and in the flesh it's just so meh. And the colour is almost impossible to match with trousers. You better move on to a leather that is more versatile and truly classy.

I almost never wear my TSGs and keep them only for posing on the boards.

- Crockett & Jones Coniston / Pembroke, Tan Scotch Grain -
You guys are killing me. My TSG Pembrokes just arrived this afternoon from Division Road, and I’m looking forward to wearing them with sweaters and corduroys.

Hello everybody,

does anyone wear the Galway-Boot "Perth" ? How does it look like being worn in Autumn and Winter?

Most shoes shown here are rather causual, not the formal oxfords or balmoral boots.

Best regards

Pascal
I'm creating an account just to comment on this. I recently stumbled upon the Perth and knew I had to have them as a Galway alternative at half the cost but probably 80% of the quality; however, I couldn't find any information about them online. I finally decided to pull the trigger after not being able to get them out of my head for weeks. I went with the double leather sole version from Brogue in Geneva as my style is more formal than the Dainite the regular version has. After seeing them in person at Crockett & Jones stores in both New York and London and consulting on the sizing with consultants, I went with my regular 8.5. In two wears, I really have no complaints, but they do seem a bit roomy in the toe box, especially for such an elegant boot. The rest of the fit feels perfect, but I just have the wiggle room, and more importantly the aesthetics, of my rugged Islays. I have Lonsdales in the same 363 last in 8.5 and they're perfect, but I wonder how these would feel a half size smaller. I will update once I've worn them a few more times and I'm thinking I may try them at a store in an 8 (yes, I probably should've done this before buying the $1100 boots). Despite this gripe, which may not even be a real problem, I do love them. It's very odd that Crockett & Jones has a Galway clone and it gets almost no press, like the Balways, Valways, etc.

Fantastic - I have a pair myself...they look great with blue jeans and a tan-colored sweater - pair it with a brown leather strapped watch - maybe a Panerai...you're killing it - well done!

So rather than taking the advice of my close friends and family, I have chosen to trust my loose forum acquaintances instead, and ordered the TSG Conistons. I know you guys have my best interest at heart, and I always appreciate your straight, unbiased advice. Will post pics on Monday.
