Any ideas where the hatch grain is from?

Cardigan is a nice offering and contrast to the pembroke, except the ridgeway. Ridgeway on shoes looks off, personally.

hi @Pascal1980
I remember, we have discussed the skills of northcote boots some days ago. (#31,118 and following)

their style is very versatile: I like northcote as hefty commando boots with rubber soles to denims or corduroy. but they are of a somewhat elegant shape on their chiseled last 348, so you can wear them to dress trousers / suits as well.
Yes ha er,

unfortunately such dressy derby boots on an elegant last shape, and with a rubber sole, are difficult to get.

Here in Europe the Northcote does no longer seem to exist. Also smooth calf leather is more formal than wax calf or country and hatch grain calf.

Best Regards

Pascal

This season's hatch grain at Cheaney is from Horween. This hatch grain at C&J might be the same source.
Quick google search for ‘hatch chrome veg re-tan’ threw up Virginia leather at Euroleathers, source tannery is Boaventura, Madeira, Portugal. It looks like that’s the source for hurricane hides.

Interesting, division road says "This Division Road style uses a customized vegetable re-tanned pull-up recipe originally developed by Horween"
I always thought that would mean its also tanned by horween.

Also have people noticed that they got a bunch of offerings on Ridgeway now? I think this is a really strong new collection by C&J, hope it does well.

I reckon it's Horween.

Ridgeway becoming increasingly popular. Cheaney have also used it for the first time in their new AW24 collection

I own the „wexford“, split toe derbies on ridgeway.
like them very much, sole is softer and more flexible than the dainite studed. good grip, almost sticky…

The broguing looks more like a Cheaney. I prefer smaller punching but that's just my opinion.
Yes, the brogueing looks a little like Cheaney's. But its still far off and not as bold as a Cheaney Avon. Here's the Avon added to the comparison. You can see the difference of punching detail and count

Thanks ha er,

unfortunately they only have it starting at US 8.5 / UK 7.5 / EU 41.5, which is to big for me. Also the custom duties from the US to Germany are an additional 19% German VAT import taxes. That makes it expensive and unpractical. You are located in the USA?

Best regards
