I had this same problem with a Cheaney Avon shoe for a while. I have a high instep. I walked around plenty in it (both indoors and outdoors) for many weeks. But that did not solve the problem. I persisted but still the problem remained. I then resorted to inserting shoe trees which have a high instep and fit real tight into the tongue and throat of the shoe and stretch those areas. Crammed those shoe trees in. Not a millimeter of space spared inside that shoe. Left em in there for a few weeks, then wore the shoes around, repeated the same cycle again..... Having repeated the cycle a few times over 6 months, i find now the problem is dealt with and gone.Dear members,
I needed a lil advice.
I have now worn connaught 2’s suede for a few times and am getting used to it well!
I do feel it looks a tiny bit old school (am 30) than my age esp. due to round toe box shape but apart from that its pretty comfortable however there a slight itch.
The right shoe somehow feels quite sore at the point which is the highest bony point on my foot in the vamp area.
I have tried to loosen up my laces as much as i can however to no avail.
There’s no such issue on the left foot.
I would have worn the shoe for about 4-5 hours divided in two occasions so far.
Do you think it could be due to high instep? Or need to wear more and break in?
Or any other advice as am still in return window?
Images attached for reference.
But this is resorting to "inflicting" a solution. Not necessarily a proper solution. But one that worked for me.
Speaking more generally and sensibly, if such a problem is occuring, then the shoe last probably isnt suited to your foot.
