Ah, typical isn’t it… They are a great boot the slate 11s.

All the best with the decision/whichever option you try next.

Which shoe trees do you guys use for your C&J shoes?
I'm getting two C&J Cavendish loafers (last no. 325). Unfortunately, C&J don't sell lasted shoe trees, so I was considering getting shoe trees from, e.g., Nordstrom (link).

However, I wanted to check whether there are any better shoe trees around

I use Allen Edmonds trees, and they work perfectly. There's no reason to spend what C&J asks unless they are lasted.

These dark brown are nice, but not very versatile for me. I wear light-blue and mid-blue jeans 90% of time, so slate was perfect color to match.
slate is a great colour!
Perhaps you should consider the coniston in slate?
It´s not a chelsea, but a derby boot. But on last 325, which may suit your regular feet much better than the extra wide 335 last.
I ˋve got them with a mentionable discount from the french dealer „la botte chantily“ some weaks ago. They are perfekt to blue denim.

Sorry to say La Botte don’t have these in stock anymore. I know what happened to their last pair…!

Super cool
My go to are my C&J Pembroke's in scotch grain - just love them!!!! G fitting, 10.5 UK, right out of the box, I can go all day, perfect fit, no heel slip, and very little vamp crease...

Hi, sorry for bothering you guys, but story about Chelsea 11 still continue. I contacted today London office Crockett&Jones because I like style of Ch11 in slate suede so much that I am considering to order MTO with more narrower last. I described their manager my issue with sizes 8.5 and 9, and I told also that size 8.5 was perfect in length and fit, just heel was moving up during step in size 8.5 so I kept size 9 after consultation with their customer service, which is too loose for long walking. He told me that my correct size should be 8.5 and that this heel moving up is pretty normal in this chelsea boots because dainite sole is stiff and need to break-in ... so he always recommend smaller size to his clients.

Who is right then? Customer service or manager in store?

Thanks for reporting. It makes sense to me what the manager said.
