Great! Thank you I will check them out tonight. Do they drop ship from CJ? Or is it possible you might get a tried on pair?

Can any compare 325 and 228 last for fit. I'm finding my Conistons a bit snug and have been eyeing up Grizedales as a replacement, assuming they'll offer more toebox room...

I recently got a pair of the Chelsea 11s in dark brown Scotch grain and love them. I’m breaking them in bit by bit now but they’re quite comfortable already. I plan to wear them to the office on rainy days but have a couple questions about care.

1. The scotch grain leather should be good for rain, right? The boots have a storm welt so I would assume so.

2. Should I use a wax polish on them now? Wait until they’re broken in (when would that be?)? Wait until some point in the future or not at all?

3. For C&J’s scotch grain in dark brown, would dark or medium brown shoe cream and wax polish be a better color?

Sorry if these are both too basic and too specific. This is the nicest pair of shoes I have so far and my first C&J and grain leather. Thanks in advance for any advice!

You’re worrying too much. Yes, they’ll be ok in the rain. I don’t polish mine until they need it but you could do it to add some protection if you wanted. Medium, dark brown or neutral shoe cream would all be fine.

I have the same boots, close to 4 years old and if I lost them I'd be clicking for a new pair! I use both Saphir renovator and saphir pommadier shoe cream. I've used Dark Brown shoe cream so far, but I think it's a little too dark and I'll be switching to medium brown. If they look ok after a light brushing or wipe with a cloth, then they are fine. It's not the kind of boot for a high gloss finish! Frequent use, I'd say once a month, lighter use and you can go longer before treating them.

Yea good leather for rain. Put some wax on it to further protect it if you'd like, might get a bit shinier. Choose the color you prefer or just neutral.

I would appreciate a recommendation for a belt to go with Crockett & Jones Harvard 2 suede loafers. Looking to wear it for business casual and weekend to match the new loafers. I noticed C&J sell tobacco & polo brown suede belts which I believe is not a perfect match but think the tobacco may work. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Carmina has a snuff suede belt.

While the product description doesn't explicitly state that they craft the belt from Stead suede, the way I read it, the implication is certainly there.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking medium brown cream might be the way to go.

I agree they aren't meant for a high gloss finish, I was only thinking of wax for more rain protection. If regular brushing & cream is enough though I'll likely just stick with that.

Also, thank you Fenners81 and lurker 33 for your advice too!

Use some a light coat of wax if you like. Experiment, it’s part of the fun/interest. Enjoy your boots, they are one of my favourites, very comfortable!

Thanks. Would you recommend the Carmina belt over the C&J?
I don't have them personally, but given the quality of Carmina seems close/on par with C&J, I can't imagine you'd go wrong with either maker.

I was mostly letting you know there was an option that was likely made with the same Stead snuff suede if that was something important to you.
