My guess is you will be a 9UK. You had mentioned on the other thread you are getting married in Paris - are you near Paris now? I would definitely advise trying on before purchase if at all possible.
Los Angeles. I likely won't be somewhere to purchase before then. Pediwear offers returns/refunds so long as I pay the return shipping so I am not too worried about giving these a shot.

Ah, I feel your pain then. I am also in LA and have to try to get to NYC to try anything on. You may also want to check w/ Bodileys, they also do VAT free shipping (and I think returns) and may be much faster than Pediwear (which usually has a wait).

Unless they need to order your size from C&J, Bodiley's is lightening fast. Both of my orders showed up via DHL Express within days.

As I mentioned in a previous post we have been sorting through our Crockett and Jones stock - I thought you guys might be interested to see this wonderful Crockett and Jones Golf Shoe we found.

They look good as new - and although I am no golfer, they look like they would perform well too. Enjoy...

I have the Islay and Pembroke in 11.5Uk. They are a good fit but a little rubbing/touching on the side at the pinky toe and forward. In your (forum members experience) do these shoes stretch/give over time a bit. I have worn both at least 6 full days but did not know if over ??? wearings they mold a little more to the feet. Any opinion as to whether I should go up a size? I fully understand fit is a very subjective thing. I have a wide forefoot/ball and narrower heel. Thank you for your consideration and advice.

From my experience, my Islay took a long time to break in, and I'm not even sure they're there even after a full Fall and Winter. That Scotch grain is just a heavily embossed stiff leather. The first few wears were brutal, especially across the instep. After about a dozen wears, I feel they became comfortable for a full day and have now slowly begun to become more supple as time goes on. Honestly, I don't think I'll consider them fully broken in until I put another Winter on them.

I have feet like yours (wide forefoot & narrow heel) and sort of suffer from the same issues.

First off, the toe box is not meant to be stretched. It's supposed to be rigid. Sure some might say leather stiffeners will mold, paper stiffeners can break, and celastic puffs will give, but in truth there's no significant stretch that will occur. However, there can be some relief. Perhaps enough relief to alleviate stress on the smaller joints (pinky area).

Were it me, I'd take the shoes over to shoe guy that can provide relief in the challenging areas. Again, expect minor relief. He/She won't be able to make magic happen.

As for sizing, if it's just minor pressure on the joints, as just mentioned, hopefully a shoe guy can provide the required relief within that specified problem area. In other words, don't size up if you don't have to. It doesn't sound like you do, based on your fit experience.

The idea or hope is that although the toe box won't change, the rest of the shoe, specifically the insole, will mold. Which should provide overall relief. So with that expectation, the "proper" size will work out eventually.

All that said, if you are feeling a heck of a lot of pressure in the joints, they are not the size or shoe or last for you and nothing will change that.

They can eventually stretch, try with a shoe stretcher or rub some alcohol inside and wear them with thick socks, heat and humidity will help.

In some lasts (i.e. Heschung Odeon) I am between sizes 10.5UK and 10 UK and depending on the socks the fit changes.

Best luck

This "heck of a lot of pressure in the joints" is not the case but it is noticeable. I meant to mention this in my previous post but left it out. My feet are straight. They do not curve inward at the ball and toes. The 325 last (and most last I have seen/had) curve inward from ball to toes. This causes the shoe to cut across my outer toes(pinky). If they 325 and other lasts did not curve in, I doubt I would have any problem. Does this make sense? Are there lasts for "straight" feet with little to no curve.
