I'm not sure exactly but I feel I'm moderate volume. My instep is a little higher so shoes with a low one don't tend to work well for me. how do you feel your 2030 and 325 compare? since I have the 2030 that gives me a good point of reference.
Width feels about the same, maybe a hair bit more width at the ball,, but instep definitely seems a touch higher on 325.

Thanks, super interesting. I could not wear the 7E in 224 as my feet were a touch wide in the toe area. I always wear medium socks and don't care for loose fitting boots. Kind of sounds like my experiences at CJ might be correct, that 7E may be the best in the 325.

I stretched the Chiltern out a little in the toe area to make it work. It's still not a great fit and I probably should have returned the 7E but couldn't be bothered to ship back to the UK.

Bought from BB and receive a Peal Co in 341 last.

Aren't they supposed to make all their peal co on 240 last?

"nearly all on 240", not all, and I have to say 341 is much better than 240 in any case

it's specific to model though, it's not like BB randomly switch between 240 and 341 on same model. I think on top of my head only thing I recall is the SWB in shell cordovan that's on 341?

A quick research tells nah.
For reference, mine is the black wingtip one on deep discount.

Hello C&J lovers, a few days ago arrived my new hallam oxfords with the original shoe trees, the shoes and trees are excelent and i love them, but i find this little detail when i insert my shoe trees.

the fit in the right shoe is excellent, but the fit in the left shoe is a little loose, this is matter of just a few milimeters, but enough for not allowing the shoe tree to fit tight and help to stretch the vamp area.

do you have suggestions of how can i fix this? thanks in advance :-D

Wondering if I could get some sizing assistance. I'm something of a tweener in terms of foot size. I'm somewhere in between a US brannock 8 and 8.5, and D/E. Looking to get a pair of Conistons in realization of a longstanding desire, but want to make sure I'm getting the size right. For comparison:

CJ Chiltern, 224 last: 7.5
Alden Barrie: 8D
Alden Trubalance: 7.5E
John Lofgren Combat Boots: 7.5
Viberg 2030: 7.5
CJ for RL Marlows: 7.5 (no longer have anymore and don't recall the last)

It seems like I should stick with a UK 7.5 in the 325 last, but this is where things get sticky. In March (like the day before covid hit) I was in NYC and bought the chilterns. Tried on the coniston while I was there for future purchase and remember that I liked the 7.0 best, but 7.5 worked. Now, that seems smaller than I would think would be comfortable. Does CJ make their boot sizes a little larger in the same lasts as their shoes? I have heard rumors of companies doing this but they may be just that: rumors. Should I expect the leather to stretch at all? In my experience shell never stretches, but CXL and suede will give a bit with wear. I am loathe to buy a 7.5 and have them stretch, but not sure if I should size all the way down to 7.0.

Sorry for the long post but I was hoping someone might have a similar experience with the lasts. Thanks for any help!
Can't tell if your Chilterns are UK sized or not.

The 325 last will fit looser than the 224 last in the same size is my experience. I have the Chilterns in UK8 and it's a little short for me. I felt like the UK8 in the Conistons gave me too much room so I bought them in a UK7.5. It's a very snug fir though. I can't splay my toes in them.

Thanks for the info. The chilterns are in UK sizing. I may just end up buying a pair in each size and sending one back. I hate doing that but I don't think there's anywhere in California to try them on again. I tend to like tighter fits in my shoes, but that has bitten me in the past. Might play it safe.

Hi everyone. Are the uppers on my burgundy pembrokes beyond repair, or do you think a refurbishment at Crockett & Jones would make a big difference? This was my first pair of C&J, I didn’t know what I was doing and did not take care of them properly. Thanks for the advice!
