Just arrived. C&J for New&Lingwood, shell cordovan. I believe it’s 240 last (check the number inside).

They are CJ.
I also find the pricing weird since these are cheaper and better finished (closed channel) than CJ's own shell line.
But again, there are more mysteries about CJ that are unfathomable to me, such as the fact they have 3 stores within the radius of a quarter mile in central London.

Maybe retailers have more flexibility discounting private-label models. They're not advertised as Crockett & Jones, and I'm sure most of their customers wouldn't know either.

I agree but even RRP these are cheaper.
On second thought, these may not be Horween shell.

Sorry but I’m not a shell cordovan specialist, I have no idea. As for the sizing I took the same size as my other C&J shoes. It’s TTS, a little wider than 337 and (especially) 348, but a little shorter too.

Thank you all for the kind words guys, I agree the shoes are really nice. BTW at the previous NL sale I got some CJ handgrades for smth around 400 GBP

Looks like shell based on the rolls. Don't see the micro creases associated with calf. Also, the RRP on this model is 200 pounds more than it's calf equivalent, which would indicate it's shell.

I don't think the question is whether it is shell or not the question is whether it is Horween shell.
