Its made by color-plus, a well respected vintage leather car interior restoration Firm (similar to leatherique).

It really is brilliant for softening and rehydrating dry leather, guess I just need to be careful on what I use it on.

In terms of sleekness, is the 348 last the way to go? I am considering my first C&J purchase coming from Allen Edmonds, and the shape of the shoe is my main reason for wanting to spend the extra money. I just don't want to make the mistakeof getting a shoe built on one of their clunkier lasts.

look at my pic above...both are on the 348. Pretty sleek compared to most AEs, without being silly pointy like say a G&G deco

I do like the look of them. I am currently debating between the Dover 2 and Drummond.

the austerity brogue drummond looks a bit odd to me, but I don't like the dover, so out of those two...drummond

Can I ask what you don't like about the Dover? Is it because it is a saddle shoe and you are in the uk?

Really I am looking for something medium to light brown in an Oxford/balmoral. Those 2 seem to be the only 348 last shoes that fit those criteria, except for possibly the westbourne, but I have to decide if that is too dark.

    Thanks for your input.

The 341 last also seems to be pretty popular with the posters in this thread.

well, the beige burnished color is a little bit light to be very versatile to me and the medallion I find strange. I'm in NJ so no UK influence.

I like the westbourne a lot actually

I'm not too worried about versatility, as I have quite a few other decent pairs of shoes (none quite as nice as C&J though). I am going to have to take a look at the Westbourne in person to get a better idea of the color. It is a shame I missed the Barney's sale.

I placed an order last night through Pediwear for a pair of Cliffords (Antique Tan) as well as a pair of Sydneys. The order will not be placed by Pediwear with Crockett & Jones until September, and thereafter I may have to wait another 10 weeks. Just as well I am a patient man. :nodding:

I'm thinking about getting pair of C&J Weymouth in dark brown. I can order them through Pediwear but they will not be delivered until November timeframe. I emailed the C&J store in NYC and they have my size in stock but they want almost $300 more than Pediwear. Does anybody know why there is such an extreme cost difference? I'd be willing to pay a little more but not $300.
