Is the Coniston boot ever made on double leather soles? Seems a few years ago they were, now all C&J boots are using Danite.

I have a pair with leather sole. I got them used and I don't know the production date.

Question on lasts - the 337 vs. the 236 for Oxfords. I wear a 6.5E UK on the 337. It fits well, good fit on the instep and well proportioned in the toe box. As a comparison on my feet, on the 348 for a 6.5E UK, the toe box feels a bit too compressed and i dont like it. The instep on 348 is OK but less roomy than the 337 but still wearable.

I will probably pick something up on the 236 to add in some traditional round to the collection. What sizing and fit changes should I expect compared to the 337?

Since I need some more conservative clothing for a new job I recently got myself a pair of Belgraves from the hand grade collection, and so far I'm very happy with them.

My only previous experience with C&J is a pair of George Cleverley loafers made to the hand grade standard, which are built like tanks, and these feel just as good. Compared to my Edward Greens they are not perhaps not quite as refined, but they aren't that far behind. They feel a bit less elegant, but perhaps more robust.

The 337 last is nicely proportioned and I do find them very comfortable as well.

A lot of discussion about the Pembroke here.

A question: is it truly on a wide fitting last? I wear a 10 EE in Lobb, 10.5 E Alden, 10 Wide Carmina, 10.5 EEE AE. Would I be able to fit into a 10 standard fitting Pembroke? Some folks I’ve spoke to seem to think so. Just wondering...

The 325 E is not wide at all, it's a good normal fitting last, you will need the 317G for the Pembroke.

I am between a 8.5EE and 8.5EEE on the Alden barrie last, a 9EEE on the AE 511 last, and the Pembroke with size UK 8.5G (on the 317 last) fits me perfectly. If I had gotten the Pembroke on the 325 last, I would have had to size up to a least UK9E.

Nice shoes. I find it frustrating that you can never really tell how a last/shoe will be until you try wearing it for a while. At which point, you have to take the hit on resale and try something else.
