Audley = too formal for jeans.

thanks for the tip. I've got the lowndes on order with pediwear so am trying to avoid another monkstrap. Can't really afford to be ddropping over $400 for a pair of shoes each time as much as I love them.

Thought I'd contribute to this great thread. I recently purchased a pair of Alex in ivywood calf from fellow SFer salsalocust (a pleasure to deal with him, by the way). The shoes were NIB subs and so set me back £239 + shipping. I'm normally a conservative person when it comes to clothing, but I thought I'd "live a little" and got me these long-nosed crazy shoes. Turns out they are not that long-nosed after all, nor are they very crazy. They simply look great, in the clinic as well as after hours with jeans:

^ Fit should take precedence over style imo.

Makes me consider getting a pair of plain toed/wholecut shoes.

I took the plunge in the world of nicely made British footwear by picking up a pair of C&J Islay boots in an oiled roughout suede, made for a tiny little shoe store in Scotland. I'm pretty happy with them, will be wearing casually with denim.

A lovely shoe, are they part lined?

Not sure if they're available here in the UK, I intend to find out.

Cross-posting from the shoe porn thread:

Latest pornographic venture: Crockett&Jones Chepstow in #8 shell cordovan. Double leather soles, last 325. A lucky find from eBay.it.
