Quick shoe/matching question

Tonight I'll be wearing a black cashmere sportcoat, white shirt, tie, and raw denim. Will brown shoes be fine, or is this a black-only setup? Thanks!

someone older and wiser than me will comment but IMHO you are already sidestepping rules by wearing denim. I would most certainly wear some kind of brown shoes, no need to stick to black.

FWIW, I really really really really like your 'uniform' shoes.

I would probably go brown shoes. But, why the tie with jeans (even if more "formal" raw jeans)? I would ditch that.
