Quick question about a tie for a gingham shirt

anything solid with a bit of texture (ie a grenadine as suggested). No patterns. I'd go dark .. black or chocolate brown, but I'm sure a darker blue would work as well. Colour sort of depends on the rest of the outfit.

The rest of the outfit? Just khaki pants and boat shoes. I'm a pretty conservative or traditional guy, I'm not sure chocolate brown would be an option for me. Does anyone have a picture I could look at for an example?
