I like the shape of the boot but I'm not found of the distressing whatsover. I'm also not a fan of the three vertical lines up the side of the boot.

Don't get these man. The price is low, but the quality is not going to be very good. The styling on these things is also pretty bad.

thanks all; nuff said, I'll look else where. I wasn't especially looking for boots when I found them. But I am looking for some decent brown leather shoes to go with my faded/distressed denim. My budget is <$100, and it needs to be something I can try on in an actual store (i.e. malls). I'm in the SF bay area BTW.

Any suggestions?

Save up more money. Serious. It's worth paying the $$$ for quality leather shoes. You must refuse to compromise.

Hmm, okay, if money isn't an issue, can you point me to some specific examples of quality leather shoes that are well regarded here? Somethings that match or exceed standards in style, comfort, and durability. I would love to try some of these on just to see what I would get for my money, so they would have to be available in a store. It would be extra nice if you could tell me where I might find them (if they're not available even in upscale speciality stores in San Francisco or nearby, I won't bother).
