I really like this jacket, but someone who wears a 42-short should not be wearing a 3-button. it's hard for me to tell from the photo, though whether it's a true 3-button, or a 3-roll-2 that has been mis-buttoned. am i just wishful thinking?

The roll is (just) above the button so it looks to me like you have to choice to make it either a hard three or, since its your preference, button the middle button only without it looking off.

Nice jacket but looks like a wintery tweed.

oh yes, definitely a wintery tweed. especially in socal. but it's PRL-corneliani and it's on the bay at a decent price. gotta jump when that happens. and thanks!

Wishful thinking! Seems more of a 3-button to me.
