    Hopleaf?

thanks, that was my first thought, too. I am having somebody meet me from Mcormick, that might be a long drive, but what the fuck.

Definitely Duke of Perth or Uncommon Ground.

Whenever I pass by Hopleaf, it's always ridiculously crowded. There's a Turkish-owned bar next door called Konak where the tenders will give you free shots of weird liquor.

Rockit has surprisingly good food, given what it is. And it's across Clarke from the stadium, so you can eat in view of Wrigley, which is kind of a cool backdrop.

There's a reason it's always crowded. Very good food for a bar and an enormous beer list. Plus it's a fun place to grab a quick bite and a drink.

On a weekday, Hopleaf - great beer list, great food. Gets real crowded Friday / Saturday though.

In Wrigleyville, the Goose Island Brew Pub is a great spot. Not usually too crowded, and they have some great brews on tap (the beer is a Chicago institution). Pretty good food too. It's just south of Addison on Clark.

Goose Island has good beer, but Uncommon Ground or Hopleaf are my picks.
