I'm going to putting some audio equipment on craigslist, but I have no clue about what any of it is. I was hoping that some of you audio folk in here might give me an idea of fair value.

Now Hear This (NHT) Model SW1S essentially perfect condition

Design Acoustics Corp. PS10A slightly beat up

NHT SA-1 Amplifier essentially perfect condition

Niles SVL-4 Speaker Selection/Volume Control System almost perfect condition

Now Hear This (NHT) Model VS-2a essentially perfect condition

2x Cerwin-Vega speakers ~6.5" in diameter with slightly beat up housings

Thanks, yall!

audiogon.com is your source to research this. you can search for your equipment and ifnd out what it's been selling for.

i'd probably suggest you sell it on there too as it's a specialized market and i think you're likely to get the best price there.

EDIT: Audiogon may not be right for you - I didn't pay a lot of attention to what sort of stuff you have. It's a fairly audiophilic site.

I'm going to guess that my stuff is on the low end, then? Think I'll still be able to get a few bucks for it?

It's been a long time since I was actively involved in audio - there are ppl a lot more qualified than me to comment. But I do know NHT has been a respectable mid-fi brand for a long time and it's what initially made me think audiogon. But when I looked for your models on audiogon and saw nothing and then saw cerwin-vega i sort of re-thought my initial hypothesis.

i'm clearly already out of my depth so maybe you should wait for more educated audiophiles to post.

Those are really old, which is why they don't show up on Audiogon. I think the only things you could sell for any money are the NHTs, and the Niles speaker selector, and you won't get much. Good luck on the rest.

Perhaps donating it and taking a deduction might get you more money?

That sub is fairly weak by most standards and is 'passive' meaning it doesn't have it's own amp. The amp you listed (SA-1) is probably dedicated to driving it, and again is pretty modest.

The VS-2a indicates you had a satellite/subwoofer setup - assuming there are two or three of these, possibly as rear surrounds + center channel, and the CV's were fronts?

I always liked NHT stuff personally - it was mid/high end when I listened to it, and American made, not that this counts for anything as such.

The PS-10 is kind of interesting from a nostalgic perspective. It is about 20 years old though by now, which is an eternity for A/V technology.

To just unload it you could probably get $100 to $150 for all of it. If you wanted much more than that, you'd have to try eBay and hope you find people who have specific tastes or are looking to replace a component with an exact match. If you don't have any of this stuff in pairs (except the sub), it's pretty much worthless to anyone else.
