What is the take on Loomstate's Methos Model? I know they received lots of flak in the past, and the fit has generally been poor and riddled with "relaxed, low-rise bootcuts", but I'm really liking the slim fit raw Methos. Think of the fit as a Slim Jim with a bootcut ankle. What are the opinions? here's a picture btw: [IMG] [IMG]

So there is really no idea on how good are these?

look pretty good I suppose, but I wouldn't get them to try to wear them in.

Really? Because the raw indigo version looks like the only one worth getting.

Or I can go with the other washes [IMG]

    yeah the washes are horrible.

what I mean is that if you are going to buy a pair of raw jeans to break in for like 6 months I would get something better, this doesn't seem like the thickest denim or like they have really good color.
All raw jeans will fade of course and I'm not saying these are bad, but when I choose a pair to break in I look at

    1. Color
    2. heaviness
    3. cut

so, I'm not saying these are bad, just that they are not the optimal choice for a pair of project jeans.

They are decent, and not as lightweight, as say, the Earnest Sewn Drys and one rinses, but AFAIK, they are only about 10.5-11 ounce denim, and not particularly tightly woven at that (unlike say, APCs, which are 12 ounces, but very tightly woven.) I think that they are decent jeans, to be sure, but I would not choose them as a "project jean", as already expressed. BTW, are those pics from Revolveclothing.com? The site offers a lot of choice (albeit, I prefer Active Endeavors, which offers fewer choices, but better ones), but they make all the jeans look really bad. They seriously need a new photographer and/or model(s).

Are you sure that APCs are 12oz or is that your or someone else's estimate? I'm just curious since I have never seen anyone state the heaviness before, other than estimates, and I would like to know for sure! [IMG]

I got that information from APC (just called the customer service number), so I assume that that info in pretty legit.

I'm looking for a lightweight pair of dark, slim jeans, and the price I was offered ($70)for the Methos sounded pretty fair, as it was more than 50% off the regular price.

cool, my estimate was 13oz, time to re-calibrate then. Flame, get them then. My opinion is only valid if you're going to break them in.

I dont understand these model pics. The models have the strangest bodies I have ever seen (slight belly, big thighs, bow legs) and every single jean looks exactly the same on them.

I have tried on Loomstate and thought their fit was good, although the one I tried on was too low rise for me. I thought they fit similarly to Earnest sewn.

There is some good stuff on Revolveclothing, and often decent coupons, but I don't think that anyone understands those pics. Hey had Kunna jeans for a while, and the picture of the guy wearing them had the worst case of male camel toe I'd seen in a while.

I really can't tell from these pictures. They look alright, but I'd really like to see some better pictures or in person.

I tried these on yesterday and they fit me very nicely. Just wasn't sure $79 was gonna be the best deal on them. After all my indecisions over the past few days I think my money is going to be better spent on some APC's. The store is not a zoo - sales people VERY knowledgeable - can't go wrong.

Oh can I tell you guys - though the sales staff was very (by no means overly) polite at Steven Alan, they arent very knowledgeable about denim.

Jomak, good decision. I was about to buy when a contact of mine told me how fast they wore.
