Question: Should I sunken metal toe-tapped my dress shoes?

Hi, when I buy leather sole dress shoes, I like to put rubber topy on the sole to prevent water damage (my city rains a lot) and prolong the use of sole( I walked a lot).

My question is: should I put sunken metal toe tap on my shoes? Is it necessary since it cost around 50 to do so?

Are your soles wearing rapidly at the toe? I think the answer depends on your own gait. I have never needed metal toe taps myself, but on the other hand I tend to wear out my heel toplifts relatively quickly.

My sympathy on your "city raining".

Is the damage done so great that any of these things are needed?? It seems to be a very much US thing to add these embellishments,

If I wear leather sole, then YES, my toe part wears off easily. But after putting on topy, it slows down a lot.

Then a sunken metal toe tap will slow down the wear even more. The alternative is to have the Topy changed more frequently. You'll have to decide for yourself which is the more sensible option.

Here are a few options:
1. Do nothing.
When the leather toe area wears down as long as the sole is still good and firm you can have just the tips replaced without doing the entire sole. Just make sure that you don't wear into the welt.
2. Have sole guards put on. When the toe of the sole guard wears out it can be replaced just like the leather ones I explained above.
3. Have sole guards and metal toe plates put on. That will cost you a little more up front but in the long run you will save money.
