Question regarding shoetree sizing

Hello,

I'd like to ask you, I've purchased shoes with shoetrees - shoes are 43.5 and shoetrees 43 size.
The shoetrees however have wider heel than the shoe and it feels like it's stretching too much.
Shoe is a Yanko on 915 last and the cedar shoe tree is this one -

Do you think that it stretches unnaturally too much or this way it does not matter and shouldn't do any harm?

Kind regards,
Peter

IMO the shoe tree does look a bit bulbous at the heal. What you can do is take a rasp and sand it down a bit at the sides and taper it a bit more towards the top at the sides. Use sandpaper to make it smooth again.

Compared to the unworn heel they definitely look too wide. As said above, sand or swap. Question though - is this what they look like with your heel in there? If so, might not be crucial, but if your heel is narrower definitely change

Yup, that's what they will definitely do in time and probably with most shoes you'll put them in. Therefore, if you can't return the shoe trees, try altering them. You'll find cedarwood to be a soft wood that is easy to work with a rasp and sandpaper. Keep trying the fit in a pair of shoes as you work away on the heel shape.

Thank you very much for your input guys, already asked seller for a return and ordered saphir ones that seems to have thinner heel. Hopefully won't need to change it again:).
