Question for someone with a lot of ebay experience

I'm not sure if this question belongs here or the B&S forum, so please excuse any misplacement. After recently acquiring a suit that fits me, I wish to get rid of the one I found on discount that has been holding me over hereforeto, but I'm not sure if it will be worthwhile to unload it on eBay. It's a navy Hicky-Freeman with a thin textured stripe, so essentially a solid, in 39R, purchased last year. It's been altered, but otherwise is in as-new condition, and there is ample material to be let out in the appropriate places. If I use a good camera to photograph it, might I expect $200?

I've bought several NWT Hickey-Freemans on eBay from reputable sellers for $200-$300. You can sometime even find suits in the Hand Tailored range for not much more. Given this, you'd be hard-pressed to get $200 for a used H-F. However, I believe I read a recent thread in Buying and Selling that discussed an ancient H-F suit that sold for $400+. On eBay, anything can happen, so you might as well give it a try.

Whenever you are considering selling something on ebay, search ebay as if you were looking for that item. See how many others are on there, how many bids the items have & how much they're going for. Some items are better given away.

For a Hickey Freeman in good condition, I'd say it's a very sellable item. Measure the garment accurately. Measure areas to let. Take some good photos (you may be better off having someone take photos of you wearing the suit along with a nice shirt, tie & square & great shoes).

Offer it for sale here on the B&S. Then try to unload it on ebay.

My bill is in the mail.

Here's your competition (unless your suit has been altered rendering it a different size than tagged) , heck you might even want to bid on one of these.

Thanks for the responses. I took a look through what else there was, and it seemed like a quite variable range. The obviously extremely old HF's didn't go for much more than $70, but newer ones went up much higher, indeed to around $400 for NWT models. However, I figure that since mine is essentially solid navy, it's a good find.

Bigbris, thanks for the suggestion of having someone take a pic of me wearing it- I was thinking of an alternative way of displaying it without a mannequin. The brown one listed on eBay is tempting, but 39R is somewhat of a compromise for me in the Madison model- since HF's are cut so generously, the shoulders and chest work for me, but even after alterations, the pants still are loose, the jacket armhole is too low, and body too square. I just picked up this one in a pinch because I needed a quality interview suit, and the price was very good. In addition, I realized that a short model looks much better on me. The only HF that really fits me well is the Vanguard model, one they make exclusively for Neiman Marcus- side vents, trimmer waist, 7 inch drop.
