Question about the proper fit of a polo

Sorry for asking another question about the proper fit of a clothing item of mine. I just ordered some custom fit RL polos. The fit is good, but something seems a little off. The shoulder area of the polos doesn't quite match up with my shoulders. My shoulders is about an inch and a half pass that line that runs down the shoulders, but the fit is good. The sleeves is at the right length, but I think that's the case because the sleeves are being pulled up as a result of the misalignment of my shoulders with the polo. What do you guys think? Should I get another polo so that the shoulders match up with the polo and if the sleeves end up being too long, have it altered? Sorry if I seem so anal, but I'm sort of a perfectionist.

The shoulders are the most important dimension in terms of comfort. Typically polo shirts are made way oversized, so it's hard to find ones that fit closely but not tight/restrictive. So yes, you probably need a larger size and then alterations if necessary.

I don't think it feels tight or anything, but rather perfect. It's just that the shoulders don't quite match up with the polo. I'm thinking of going back to RL and try a larger size tomorrow. I'm guessing the shoulders will match up, but the sleeves will be too long and the length of the shirt will go down near my crotch. I suppose that can be altered as well? what about the side vents or cuts or w/e you want to call them?

I know how you feel.

A question, have you laundered the shirt yet? The fit will change if you use a dryer.

No, I haven't. Won't the shirt shrink after washing it though? Meaning it's only gonig to get worse unless I get a size bigger than what I'm wearing?

If the shirt is as small as you say, going up one size and laundering the bigger shirt should be fine.
