Question about Side Vents on Suits and Sport Coats

    What is the technical term for the narrow strip of silk or viscose fabric band that goes across the inside of the side vents? [​IMG]

    Is that a Tom James garment? They are certainly commonly seen on that make.

    Yes, it is a Tom James suit but I have seen them on over custom suits too.

    You see it sometimes even on Banana Republic level stuff.

    My BB suit has one but not my Tom James. Elio, English-American VP and fitter at their factory store actually strongly recommended I not get side vents. So I got them.
