Question about Hermes Cardholders

My birthday is coming up and I thought i'd get myself a nice wallet/cardholder. I've had my eye on the Hermes Calvi however I noticed that it was out of stock in the online store. When I went over the weekend to Hermes Rodeo they seemed to have a full stock of small leather goods, however I called today to see if they had the Calvi in stock and the SA told me they are currently out of all small leather goods. He put me on the waiting list but said it isn't out of the ordinary for it to be out of stock for months.
My question is, do they normally only have a full stock of leather goods only for display? if so should I wait on the calvi or settle for my back up plan, Goyard?
