Question about Engineered Garments

Can anyone advise me about Engineered Garments sizing? I normally wear a 42 jacket, would that translate to L or XL in an EG jacket and shirt?

i am a 41—42R (sometimes a 40) depending on the label and i am a true medium in EG which tends to run a bit loose.

The only viable advice on EG sizing is:
1. Try it on, or
2. Get detailed measurements of each piece

Regarding shirts, I wear a M in the ringspun denim, which fits roomy but barely long enough, a S in the flannel workshirt and CPO overshirt which fit perfectly, and a S in the 19th C Flannel BD which fits huge and super long. Cotton pants seem true to size, but size down one on wool pants and size down probably two on shorts. For hoodies, sizing is all over the place. Oh, and for reference I have a 38" chest and am 6'2".

I have found EG sizing to be as consistent as any other brand I own. I'm a true Medium in almost any brand and EG is no exception. I currently own six shirts, a cardigan and the Field Vest, all of which are size Medium. Even when I tried to size up on the Andover jacket (as I was told it runs small), I still needed a Medium over a Large. So, I've found no issues with this though I know some here have experienced the opposite.

For reference, I'm 6'1" and 174 lbs.

I am also about 6'1 175 lbs, and I too buy all of eg button-up shirts and polos in medium. Personally, for outerwear, I usually go up to large in order to give me enough room to layer it over another item. I know if I order a large in any of their jackets that I will be able to layer it over a shirt or a sweater.

Thanks everyone. Joa and Oxnard, I can't mentally transform height and weight into cloth sizing - what jacket measurement do you normally take?

I wear a size 42 R and I do jump around with size. On shirts, I prefer size Large because I like a traced fit. On jackets, most of the time I wear size XL because I like to layer and don't like the constricted feeling of tight outerwear. Especially in the Winter.
It's really a matter of how you like the fit of your clothes.
Feel free to contact me any questions or measurements.

If you mean EG jacket size, then Medium. If you mean a tailored jacket, then I'm usually a 39 or 40 Regular.

5'10, 160lbs, 38R...I'm either a small or medium depending on the piece.
