Question about Belts

I only have 2 belts. One is black and one is brown. The black one is from Gap and the Brown one is Ralph Lauren though i bought that from Century 21 Department store for pretty cheap few years ago. They were both $30 and under i recall each.

I only wear jeans and sometimes khaki shorts in the summer.

But are there some belts that just cannot be worn with say dress pants? For example, last time i wore a dress pants and had to tuck in a button shirt in it along with a belt. However, the belt didn't look right because that was the belt that i wear when i wear my jeans. Then i tried another belt at a store and it looks "right with the dress pants.

I'm not sure if i'm phrasing this correctly but i think you guys know what i mean? Both the belts i have from gap and ralph lauren are leather but most likely a cheap leather because i bought them for $30 and under and it was many years ago. But are there some belts that you should be wearing specifically if you are wearing dress pants and khakis whereas others only with jeans?

Dress belts are usually simple in design, not as wide or thick as one would wear with jeans.

Does anyone have suggestions for finding a decent real leather jeans belt? Every one that I have purchased lately seems to be either poor quality leather or that pressed ground up leather junk (think particle board). Even with close inspection most of the typical mall stock ends up being garbage.
