Query on detail in RLBL SC

Hi

Just bought this SC from RLBL. It is in the Daniel model.

I am curious as to the purpose of the two interior buttons (which are united by a piece of cloth similar to that of the SC, with working button holes). Anyone care to elucidate that for me ?

It's used to completely button up the jacket at the throat. There should be a couple of buttons underneath each side of the collar. I couldn't find a picture of a throat latch on a sport coat but this is the same thing.

thanks for that. The throat buttons are there

I do wonder if it makes sense though . While it is 75/25 wool/cashmere it is very lightweight and I can't see myself wearing it in the cold, unlike your example
