Hi Guys,

First post so here goes. I live in the UK and i've been looking for shirts with collars that don't curl and keep their shape and single cuffs with some structure or a DC with no structure.

Can anyone recommend a few brands I can check out? We have the usual throw away companies like Charles Tywhitt, TM Lewin etc but looking for a bit better than that...

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Great Thanks - I'll check them out.

Also if you know of any shirt makers in a cheap price bracket that make excellent shirts, I would consider.

Keep them coming guys!

If you're near an Ede & Ravenscroft, check them out as I think their sale is still on. The double cuffs will be a little less stiff than Lewin. They had shirts from £85 marked down to £25 & £35 in store.

Yeah i ha popped in to them but they didn't really have anything slim left unfortunately. Their shirts are good though and at £25 a bargain! Can you recommend anywhere else?

Thanks

Fine shirts.
They're having their semi-annual sales. Big discounts.
It'll be ending within a week or so.

If you are looking for slim fit shirts, you won't find them on sale at H&K; they don't put their slim fits on sale unfortunately. They don't have a large selection of colours/patterns in slim either, and it's something of a matter of chance if they have any particular size and colour in their Jermyn St shops. A bit frustrating, I like their slim fitted shirts a great deal.

Perhaps this is as much a question of finding a laundry that doesn't fuck up your shirts as finding shirts that last.

In general, I find that the smaller the collar, the better it holds its shape. You said you were looking for single cuff, can I take that to mean single cuff to be worn with cuff links? Perhaps those are more common in the UK, but in the US I only see them available on select evening shirts (and it's usually a mistake since these are intended for white tie shirts and the shirts in question are black tie shirts).

When I used to buy Thomas Pink shirts I never had problems with the collars curling and the cuffs tended to be rather soft on the double cuff models. They're overpriced, though.

no i meant barrel cuffs not single cuff...sorry. I tend to wash my shirts and follow a strict routine which has kept several of my shirts in good shape. Best i've found are Gieves & Hawkes so far with their cut amazing and great collars and cuffs.
