Are Tod's (made in Italy) shoes good enough for their price tag?

How do they compare quality wise to Sutor Mantellassi & Santoni?

I really like them...great looking, very comfortable rubber soled shoes. The quality seems fine, I am sure they are on par with Prada or Gucci and while I am sure their leather soled offerings are high quality I would not waste my time with them when I could have Tricker's or C&Js for a similar price. Sutors and Santonis are going to be of a higher quality.

I have a few pairs, mostly casual shoes. On sale at 50% off they're not that bad value. I found them prety solid made (except the car shoes), but not quite to be compared to mid-tier English shoes. SM seem much better (I have a pair of loafers) and Santoni depends on the collection.

I bought last week from yoox a pair of winter boots for 89 euros, excellent deal. I'm tempted by some Tod's derbys from Yoox, but I'm not sure they're worth 215 euros, I think they only available in Europe.

OP, not sure where you're located but if you're in the NYC area, Woodbury Commons usually has a decent selection in their shop.

I like them a lot. I have a pair of boots and lace up wing tips (with leather soles...not rubber). I just ordered a pair of driving loafers on clearance for $120.

I have four pair of their loafers. Good quality but waaaay over-priced, barely an improvement over Geox in terms of driving loafers.

Also beware the Gommini soles, they wear out very fast in my experience. If you want a driving loafer look for more surface area than the gommini has.

I've had the opposite experience with gommini soles. I've been wearing mine off and on for 2 years with little evident wear.

I really like the Tod's drivers designs... however, the gommini sole durability is a major concern of mine and stops me from buying one.

How often do you wear them? And do you walk around alot when you have them on? I imagine the leather will be worn away / damaged if you step on rocky / uneven surfaces.

Thanks

I really like the rubber soles on these shoes. Only have one pair, but it made me rethink leather in terms of comfort. I realize this will be a controversial statement, so forgive me in advance.
