What's the verdict on the quality of Solovair boots? Granted that they are not goodyear welted and hence cannot be resoled, do you think the soles are durable? What about the leather and overall construction?

I hear they are a notch above Dr Martens but my search on SF yielded nothing much, perhaps due to them not being popular enough.

Those with experience, do you think they are worth 90-120GBP?

Solovair boots are goodyear welted. They are a nice boot, and I believe they are nicer than the Doc Marten MIE collection. They are cheaper as well.

we've talked about Solovair a lot on this forum in DM threads, surprised you didnt find any info

they are the company that first made the AirWair sole that DM got famous for. I have about 5 pairs of Solovairs (2 monkey boots, 2 chelsea boots, 5 eye laceup), some are goodyear welted, some are heat welted. They're made in UK (MIE DM is made at the Solovair factory)...is it better than MIE DM? no, not necessarily but they have their own models that DM doesnt and actually has more variety of styles. Also their oxblood color is different from DM's, it's a bit deeper burgundy which I think is a nicer shade. And Solovair still makes reissues of the Southerner and Highlander steelcap boots which are really rare models. Leather is the standard correct grain used in all shoes of this type.

and does anyone actually resole shoes...esp DM style shoes???
