Is the quality of Hugo Boss Selection shirts worth the price tag?

Nope. I used to be a Hugo Boss whore but then I figured out (with this sites help) that you can get much more for your money with tons of other companies. I will say that their slim fit shirts fit me perfect so I still own quite a few

Hugo Boss is not worth the price tag. Although this is not to say they are complete garbage. Their slimfit shirts, as previously mentioned, are quite nice for a younger person, perhaps a student, if found at a discount. If you can find a shirt in the range of 30$, I say take it. You won't be disappointed for that price.

I'm a Hugo Boss fan, but they don't do everything well (who does?) Their knitwear is generally great. But Boss Selection shirts are way overpriced for what they are. I only buy one when I occasionally find one at Syms for $40.

Yep, I like their style too. Lucky you can find a shirt for $40 [IMG]

while hugo boss slection are not worth their retail price, they are a nice shirt and if on sale i'd pick one up. instead of comparing hugo boss selection and collezioni i would traul ebay and SF for barba, borrelli and truzzi at a discount.

For a Hugo Boss slim fit shirt I would not pay more than $40, or $50 if you really like it. I picked up two during a private sale they had last week at the factory outlet store.

They hold up just fine, I've had a couple for two or three years and after numerous dry cleanings they still look and feel like new.

Make sure you get ones with sleeve length marked because many unmarked have way long sleeves and the shortening of those will probably cost you about $15 extra/shirt.

What's the ballpark for a barba, borrelli and truzzi?

    Thanks!

BOSS Selection has some great things...
Their suits are typically of the half-canvassed variety... Their ties are phenomenal (Although 175$ retail here in Canada is too much)... And their shirting is very good.

(Note- Boss Selection is a very different beast then Hugo Boss Black label)

Now shirts are another story... You can get a decent MTM shirt for the price of the Selection Shirts... So I am not completely sold...

But if it fits you well, and you are happy with the fabrics, the shirt will not let you down.

boss selection makes quite nice machine made shirts (very different from the other shirts from the several boss lines), single needle stichted, mop buttons, side gussets, sometimes quite nice fabrics, overall very neat stitching, on the shirts I have/had I really liked the relatively soft collars.
I can imagine though that the retail price overseas is totally out of scale and in germany we are thrown after with everything boss offers anyway.
unfotrunately the boss selection suits aren't made by caruso like those of the preceeding line (baldessarini) that was substituted by boss selection then.
