Seeing this thread is definitely making me want to have the one pair of vintage Grensons I have (black double monks) re-soled and refurbished.

Definitely a good plan! Always like to see an old pair revived and given a new lease of life.

I've a pair of G2, Leander boots, they do look nice overall but I've been disappointed by how quick the sole has worn. I bought them in January & have only worn them when its dry outside, I live in Scotland so you can imagine how often that happens. Here we are in July and I've already got a hole in the sole around the ball of the foot. I now need to fork out a substantial amount of the price of the shoe for a refurb, although this time I'll get a rubber sole. The value proposition of a refurb is obviously much better for their higher grade shoes, but for the G2 series I'm not convinced it's worth it.
