I’ve been wondering how “good” are De Petrillo compared to the the elite level competitors such as Kiton, Brioni, Attolini etc in terms of quality?

I think De Petrillo isn't on the same par as the ones you've named. I think it's a few notches below but still a great brand. Now, I would like to see how De Petrillo stacks up against Stile Latino.

I agree.

I was looking at the suit hierarchical thread yesterday(albeit it is out dated) however where would De Petrillo place?

AFAIK they're half canvassed, with some hand stitching to make it look more sartorial. I think the product looks very nice for the price, much like Gabo Napoli. I don't think you can compare it to for instance Attolini.

Does anyone know what relationship De Petrillo has to Gaiola and how they compare? I had got the impression that it was the same company re-branded (based on a similar cut and details, the timeline of when I became aware of each brand and how Ebay sellers conflate the two) but it seems that Gaiola still exists and is 'from' De Petrillo.

I really like the cut of De Petrillo and they have some nice looking cloth choices. I also like the way they do the lining. All in all, for someone like me who is into Attolini, De Petrillo seems to offer something which at least looks similar, but at a much lower price.

On sale De Petrillos at $300-400 range on Ebay are some of the best deals out there. The construction is more refined than SM while costing just a bit more from discounted SMs. Their bomber jackets are also very softly tailored and better than Valstar. I've been getting any DP in my size whenever I see them.
