Based on the google images I am seeing for altan bottier, you are asking about a type of shoe that doesn't get much pub on styleforum. I have yet to see someone of the WAYWRN club to post green or bright purple shoes.

I think green goes with JUST shades of grey suits. Which is a shame. Only being able to wear a shoe with one kind of suit and no sport coats automatically gives it the boot from my wardrobe. I often see people post that they got green shoes, then they never post them in fits. Who the F*** would own purple shoes?

But.. I want to own this pair just to marvel at it.

Nah - I have a pair of green shoes, a tasteful dark forest green and a burnished toe, and it goes REAL well with all kinds of blue. And a tweedy brown too for that matter. Which reminds me, now that it's winter I should get them out of seasonal storage.

I also have a little grey-green suede pair of old Cole Haans that have been kicking around for 5+ years. They look great casually with blue jeans and dark brown cords.

Green isn't really isn't a limited colour, just not common. But that is just my opinion of course.

Nobody has mentioned Meermin or J.Fitzpatrick. Also, keep an eye on the seasonal (including the soon to be arriving Christmas) sales at Brooks Brothers. If their Peal & Co. shoes are on sale then that might be a chance to get Crockett and Jones made shoes for under $500.

Allen Edmonds are great while on sale. I wouldn't pay retail or over $250 for a non shell pair.

I would like to throw Trickers into the mix. I've had their country lasted shoes and boots for years but recently gave the city lasted ones a try. Quality is great and closed channel as well. I would like to say maybe slightly below C and J handgrade for quality?
